Putting The Phoenix together every week takes over 30 student editors, reporters, photographers and copy editors, in addition to a business staff that handles the newspaper’s advertising and finances. Many positions are paid. While prior experience with The Phoenix is a plus, all positions are open to any currently enrolled student and no experience is necessary.
How to apply:
1. Read our job descriptions or contact our editors (email@example.com) to figure out what kind of position might be right for you.
2. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org indicating which positons you would like to be considered for. You can apply for multiple jobs. For most positions, we’ll need one or two samples of your work, which should be attached to the email in a single Word or PDF document. Journalistic work (writing, photography, editing, etc.) is preferred, but we can also accept writing samples of other kinds.
What happens next
Once you send us an email, a Phoenix editor will be in touch with you.
All candidates will be notified by e-mail immediately following the appropriate hiring meeting.
