Comments Policy
In keeping with our letters policy, The Phoenix will not allow anonymous comments to be posted on this Web site. In order to promote thoughtful, impassioned discussion, The Phoenix will allow our reader’s comments to be posted on our discussion forums without moderation, so that comments appear as soon as they are posted. We trust members of the Swarthmore community, alumni and other readers to follow our guidelines by providing their real name along with their comments. Hateful or anonymous comments will be removed immediately.
It is our hope that this policy of requiring that readers stand behind their comments by providing their real name will increase the amount of thoughtful, informed commenting, while minimizing the potential for moderator bias to hinder discussions that take place in our forums. However, we will enable moderation on our discussion forums if the guidelines described herein are not followed.
